Mya & Eric: A Love Story Rooted in Faith and Celebration

March 26, 2025

Some love stories are written in the stars, while others are crafted in the quiet corners of a shared faith. Mya and Eric’s journey began on the first day of Bible college on Thetis Island, an instant connection and mutual faith brought them together. They experienced so many memories together, exploring new places, hanging out and spending time with friends, growing in their faith, and then one year later, on January 1, Eric proposed in the most breathtaking way— a place that was filled with so many memories for the two, on top of a mountain, with a stunning view. That day marked the beginning of their forever—and the start of their wedding planning journey!

A Garden-Inspired Wedding at 52 North

The day began with a quiet, peaceful atmosphere. In the main house, Mya and her bridesmaids enjoyed a morning filled with music, laughter, and the excitement of getting ready together. Meanwhile, Eric had just a couple of requests to make their wedding day even more memorable: a Spikeball net and a high-energy dance party. Both turned out to be absolute hits. The Spikeball net brought an extra layer of fun to the groom and groomsmen’s getting-ready moments, setting the tone for the day ahead. And when it came time to hit the dance floor, Eric’s vision came to life—an electrifying, joy-filled celebration that no one would soon forget.

Mya and Eric envisioned a wedding that felt vibrant, romantic, and deeply personal. They wanted all their close family and friends to celebrate in the special day. They chose 52 North just outside of Sylvan Lake, Alberta, the perfect venue to bring their dream of a garden-inspired celebration to life. With stunning florals by Calyx Floral Design, their ceremony space was transformed into a vibrant, elegant oasis, with a flower-lined aisle reminiscent of a picturesque European countryside.

Despite the unpredictable forecast, the skies showed mercy, allowing their outdoor ceremony to unfold just as they had dreamed. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they exchanged heartfelt vows in an intimate setting filled with love and deep-rooted tradition. Worship, family prayer, and communion wove through the ceremony, making every moment a beautiful reflection of their faith and the unbreakable bond they share.

A Reception Full of Personal Touches

As the celebration moved indoors, the rain finally began to fall—just as if nature itself was offering its blessing. After all, they say rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck, symbolizing cleansing, fertility, and a love that will stand the test of time.

Inside, guests stepped into a reception space straight out of a dream—a breathtakingly curated setting where romance and warmth filled every corner. Soft candlelight flickered against lush floral centerpieces, casting a golden glow over the evening. A heartwarming photo wall told the story of their love, while a beautifully arranged guest book table invited friends and family to leave words of wisdom, date night ideas, and cherished memories, each message a heartfelt gift for the newlyweds.

As dinner unfolded, beautiful, heartfelt speeches brought laughter and tears, each one a tribute to the love, friendship, and unshakable bond the couple shared. And when the music started, the celebration reached new heights. The dance floor became the heart of the night—an electrifying whirlwind of joy, laughter, and unforgettable moves. From the first dance to the last, it was a night of pure magic, a celebration of love in its most radiant form.

A Day to Remember

From the heartfelt moments of their ceremony to the lively and joy-filled reception, Mya and Eric’s wedding day was everything they had dreamed of and more. Their love story—rooted in faith, laughter, and cherished memories—will continue to inspire all who know them.

As they look back on their wedding day, Mya and Eric are reminded not just of the beauty of the event itself, but of the journey that brought them to this incredible moment—one that started with a chance meeting on Thetis Island and led them to a lifetime of love.
